'Son Under the Full Moon’ is Connected to the Journey of the Cambodian Nation

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has stated that the story told in the new tv series, ‘Son Under the Full Moon’, along with some other stories he has shared from his life in books, are all true and represent the journey of the Cambodian nation.

Speaking at the premiere of the new TV series, ‘Son Under the Full Moon’, on Monday afternoon, 13 March 2023, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that the show does not just tell his individual story, but also more broadly depicts the progress of the nation, the many struggles and pains the people of the nation went through, and the path that led to the peace of today.

"My character is connected to the life of the Khmer nation, one of the millions of young people who suffered from the war due to the wrong thinking of the politicians who staged a coup to overthrow Prince Norodom Sihanouk," he said.

‘Son Under the Full Moon’ is based on the true story of Prime Minister Hun Sen’s life, chronicling the struggle he went through to bring Cambodia back from war and massacre. Currently, about 60% of the show has been completed, and will begin airing on 20 March on Bayon TV.

A total of 80 episodes will air three days a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
